Four police officers, including the president of the local police union, were arrested Tuesday by the FBI on charges that they used excessive force against undocumented immigrants.

The FBI alleges the abuses were covered up in a New Haven suburb where a federal investigation found life was made miserable for Hispanics.

The East Haven officers assaulted people while they were handcuffed, unlawfully searched Latino businesses and harassed and intimidated people, including advocates, witnesses and other officers who tried to investigate or report misconduct or abuse the officers committed, the federal indictment said.

Police treatment of Hispanics in East Haven, a seaside city, has been under federal scrutiny since 2009, when the U.S. Department of Justice launched a civil rights probe that found a pattern of discrimination and biased policing. Read more;

In an article I seeded back in Sept.2011, a theDEFENDERSonline article written by TaRessa Stovall said the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating 15 local and state police departments across the country for cases involving alleged police brutality or misconduct, in many cases of minorities.

From Seattle to Miami, questions have arisen whether officers of the law are breaking rules in their pursuit of those they suspect—or claim—to be breaking the law.

        i was hoping you could see right through it. in actually taking the time to read whats presented so far, these guys, have ONE BIG hurdle that they cant kick, which is all of the same officers are identified at all of the places in question and thats hard to shake.

        also these guys really didnt get that the FBI did there homework because they monitored the citizens and there business, vs,. monitoring the cops in question because that takes away a major part of the cops lawyers defense of THERE PICKING on my guy.

        because there is no randomness to these accusations, there specific to a time and a place that only effects one group.

        not going to be good for these cops, there going down = its only going to matter which one flips and takes the f b i deal first!!

              No need to mark my calender cj, I recognize you have no problem commenting on the 'smoking gun" threads where the cops obviously wrong, and I appreciate and commend you for that.

              Our disagreements are on the articles where you won't agree to what seems to be obvious to the rest of us. Although I understand that your looking at things through a different spectrum, you can be real stubborn at times.

              Speaking of stubborn, I wonder what happened to yellowrose? She hasn't been in the Vine since Christmas day. Perhaps you could send her a Friend Request cj, maybe she'll respond and become active again.

              Maybe you might send one to me and I'll become a little more active. Because someone needs to keep an eye out for these rogue cops when they get out of hand.
