From Seattle to Miami, questions have arisen whether officers of the law are breaking rules in their pursuit of those they suspect—or claim—to be breaking the law.

The DOJ is now looking into seven fatal police shootings of suspects in Miami between February and July 2010. All of the victims—six men and a 16-year-old boy—were black. All of the officers are Latino. “Some city leaders and community activists have raised questions about whether race was a motive in any of the shootings,” reports The New York Times.

In mid-February, the Miami NAACP and the ACLU asked a civilian panel wielding subpoena power to look into shootings. The ACLU said the number of shootings is disproportionate when compared to larger cities such as New York City, in which the population is 20 times larger than in Miami. New York City had just eight police-involved shootings in 2010,” reported The Miami Herald.

“Worst Police Misconduct Videos of the Year”

Here are some of the more egregious, but not all, of the videos that were released in 2010 in association with claims of police misconduct. Of course, some of the incidents tied to these videos did not occur in 2010, but the videos for those reports weren’t released to the public until this year so they are included.

Yep. Now he's picking on my city. But the truth is, Miami's PD is -and has been- totally off the chain since the late 70's. The early to mid 80's...faget about it.

If they weren't robbing you, they were killing you. If they weren't robbing and killing you, than they were taking bribes from you. There was no such thing as an honest Miami Police Officer back then. Metro Dade wasn't as bad as the City PD, but they certainly weren't angels either. Remember, the 1st case I had was for Attempted Murder on a Leo.

But it wasn't a random shooting. But I then got slammed with my dope cases and that was all she wrote. It was basically 20 years before I saw freedom again.

But either way, Miami is and has been off the chain for quite some time and this isn't even the first time they've been investigated by the JD.

Good luck is all I can say.....

I am not spreading anything (well, sometimes I do) but in this case it's the US Department of Justice, and they have a little more clout than me.

They have been talking about this in Seattle for a LONG time- good to finally see it being done. We definitely need it done.

Thanks Jerry. I'll have to look from home later. This pc won't let me open the videos. Much appreciative.

A very disturbing trend. So the question is; is this a recent developing trend or is the truth coming to light more often thanks to the internet, cell phone cameras, ect ... ? Has it always been this way and everyone is starting to see now thanks to the media age? Or is this a recent trend based on society, ethics, law enforcement training etc.. ?

I think this has always been the case. The media age has allowed more exposure just like world news. I believe cops overreact because they are involved in all the seedy side of society most of the time. It's easy to say that they should control their temper but do we all the time. We would beat the crap out of people too if we did not fear the consequences.

Jerry - This is off topic here, but I've been searching for that recent seed about the officer killing the woodcarver who was crossing the street with a knife. The five shot murder, I would call it.

Here's the link. Pathetic. This is the result.

        Even more Pathetic.

        STILL MORE pathetic.

        The hits keep comin'.

I never trusted cops in the first place. Not to mention, I personally got hit by a Seattle Metro Bus, as they ran a red light. And they gave me a ticket for 'Not yielding". The officer asked the people on the bus who was at fault(As if people on the bus were paying attention to the stop light...) I paid a $145.00 ticket- for getting hit by the bus. When the TrafficCam video would have PROVEN that I had the right-of-way ay MY green light.

I was told, "You should just pay this reduced ticket."(Because I actually came in to contest it, they reduced the ticket 50 dollars.) "Otherwise, you're looking at going to the police, finding out where they store the TrafficCam video- I think it's in Colorado..."(Yes. ACTUAL words from the Magistrate.) She said, "You'll have to pay some exorbitant amount to get them to release the video, and send it here. All the State has to do is go on the strength of the Police Investigators- But the choice is yours."

        SPD is PATHETIC.

Thanks RT-36 for re-posting the original article that disappeared from Jerry's seeds. The disappearance is what baffles me, and I assume only Jerry can answer that question.

This is just the truth coming out more now. I was beaten by the Police for the 1st time when I was 11 years old. I am now 41. Now granted, at one point I lived a life that enticed Police interaction on pretty much a weekly basis. And back then, my mouth had a way of writing checks that my ass couldn't cash. But still...

I see all this stuff out of Seattle, but to me, it's simply a minor version of the problems we have in Miami. Down here, they just kill you. Over and over and over. I have no faith that the JD will ever really be able to deal with this issue. Not down here. It's to deep rooted.

To me, the only thing they understand is killing them back. I'm not advocating violence or anything, but sometimes...well, it's all they (Bullies) understand.

I was charged as an adult when I was 14 years old and my original charge was Attempted Murder of a LEO. (Law Enforcement Officer) I shot him while he was coming through my door. Now, to hear that you may think, "God, your a scumbag". And on paper thats how it looks. To this day, thats still how it looks. On paper.

The reality is, the cop was off duty and it was 2:00am. He was not in uniform or in a Police Vehicle. He came to my house to -quite simply- shake me down. As he was shaking down many of the teenage thugs / dealers. (Which I admit I was.) He had in essence turned into our worst nightmare.

The truth is, I had made the decision to shoot him before he even made it to my door. I heard him pull up and, well, I simply snapped. I had simply had enough out of this pig. And he made it easy for me. He just walked up and opened my door all by himself. He didn't knock or anything. He just came in. He picked the wrong @!$%#ing door and the wrong @!$%#ing person.

Now remember, this was Miami circa 1984. Well, the only thing that saved him was his vest. But to this day, I still send this @!$%# a X-Mas card every year. I haven't missed a card since 1986. And I will continue to send one until the day one of us dies.

So you see, sometimes whats on paper isn't the reality of the real situation. This dude was nothing more than a shake-down artist. He was simply a criminal with a badge and a gun. And he reaped exactly what he sowed.

He got the message. And he never shook down anybody else. And thats my whole point. They understand when you use the same force against them, that they use against you. When you line up eye to eye with them, they aren't nearly as tough. They depend on your fear of them. Lose that fear and they lose the war.....
